About this tour

Discover Meteora on a full-day small-group trip from Thessaloniki. A jewel of Orthodoxy and a unique geological phenomenon, it is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

We collect you from your accommodation early in the morning. After about three hours on the road, with a stop on the way, we reach Kalambaka, right under the Meteora cliffs. From there we continue to Kastraki, the closest village to the monasteries, and to the viewpoints for the best photos.

You visit two of the monasteries, chosen from those open on the day of the tour. Explore the interiors and frescoes, learn how the monks lived in these clifftop sanctuaries, and take in the panorama from the top of the rocks.

Afterwards your tour leader takes you to Kalambaka for a coffee, drink or snack before the drive back to Thessaloniki.
