Combine a walking tour of Thessaloniki with discovering the fantastic food scene of the town. Thessaloniki is known for its diverse and flavorful cuisine, which is influenced by its location at the crossroads of Europe and Asia. On this tour, you will have the opportunity to explore the city's local markets and taste authentic delicacies by blending in with the locals, led by a truly passionate Thessalonikian.

On our 3½h tour, your expert host will lead you on a culinary adventure through the city, introducing you to the rich history and culture of Thessaloniki's food with secrets only a local would know.

Meet at the harbour of Thessaloniki and then head to an old bakery - a hidden gem that stands for three generations, for the first stop.  Sample some typical Greek breakfast pastries such as traditional koulouri (a sesame seed-covered bread ring) & bougatsa (phyllo pastry filled with cream or cheese). Then hear interesting stories during the coffee break and then head to the open market of the town.  Through little streets and alleys full of history, you'll arrive at the "Kapani" (open from Monday to Saturday) a vibrant, colourful and historic place. Once you finish strolling the market, taste some original street food, and a variety of meze dishes, such as dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), tzatziki (yoghurt and cucumber dip) and have the chance to hear some exciting stories from your host.

Whether you are a foodie looking to explore Thessaloniki's culinary scene, or just someone who loves to eat, this tour is the perfect way to experience the city's delicious food and drink. Wonderful food tour combined with a walking tour of Thessaloniki. Apostolos has a wonderful style to communicating that made us feel at home right away, and we loved all the local food specialities he made us have through the tour. He also accommodated our request of getting our dog along and made sure we went to dog friendly places/ sat outside etc. He also gave us tons of information on where to visit etc and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to explore Thessaloniki! Highly recommend:)
